About us
Partnership for Penns Valley
Library Services

Mission
The Association envisions an educated, connected community of readers, learners, doers, and dreamers. To achieve this, we support the Centre Hall Library in transforming lives by educating, inspiring, and connecting people.

How we got here
1993
Centre Hall Library
Association Founded
There was no library in Centre Hall, but that was the point. This group of volunteers began the long process involved in bringing a library to the community. The Association spent the next four years working with the Centre Hall Borough, the Penns Valley Area School District, and the Centre County Library & Historical Museum selecting a site, designing a building, and tirelessly raising funds to make the library a reality.
1997
We Opened the Doors
The Centre Hall Area Branch Library opened its doors in 1997. The 2500 square foot building, located next to the Centre Hall Elementary School, housed a collection of approximately 6,000 books and functioned as a branch of the Centre County Library & Historical Museum.
2022
We Got a New Name
In 2022, Centre Hall Area branch library association and the library Friends Group for the Centre hall Area Library, voted to enhance our organization’s library mission by incorporating Penns Valley into our library friends group name.
Where We're
Going
Through generous donors and fundraising efforts, we're building the next great space for adult learners and future generations to learn, grow, & play!
